Many people in show business are viewed as role models in our society. Many of these people are just regular men and women that are placed high on a pedestal simply because they can sing or act, hence, becoming all the more famous. Although he was famous and popular in the entertainment world for almost four decades, Frank Sinatra was a singer and actor that had a side to him that not everyone knew. He hid behind the facade of an entirely happy, successful performer, when, in reality, he had many problems that the public was not even aware of. Some of these problems are the same that the average person faces day to day, but many went far deeper than trivial troubles. He was extremely popular with his classmates. Though all the students adored him, the teachers did not; his grades were less than satisfactory, causing him to drop out of A.J. Demarest High School in the middle of his senior year. By his motheramp;#8217;s request, he finished his education with one year at Drake Business School (Sinatra 21). According to Sinatra, amp;#8220;school was very uninteresting, and homework was something we never bothered with; (qtd. in Sinatra 18). amp;#8220;We; were referring to his gang of friends, who he spent most of his time with. Draw two or more characters from your story. Write a brief dialog exchange between the characters.Draw a picture of yourself on the television talking about the book you are currently reading. Under your illustration, write down three reasons someone should read your book.Pretend your story is a play. Draw two specific scenes from your story and underneath the illustrations, write a brief dialog exchange of what is happening in each scene.Make a timeline of the important events that are happening in your book. Include important dates and events that took place in the characters lives. I did not expect to learn about topics such as globalization, political geography, or industries and services. I was surprised at what all we learned in such a short period of time. I gained a new prospective and information about the world around me. Throughout the semester, my understanding and knowledge about geography has drastically changed from before this course. This course has made me think about topics and things that I have never reflected upon. I have had this standard premonition of geography as just places or maps, but there is so much more. Betty Towle discriminates Victor even after passing a spelling test and goes to an extent of writing a letter to his parents wanting them to shave Victor’s braids or keep him home. She uses this as an excuse for calling him disrespectful. He faces the epitome of discrimination when he misses two shots in a game which the two shots would have made them winners against the best team in states; the team is then called â€Å"Indians† e ven though he was the only Indian in the team. Victor and I were both bullied although Victor was bullied by both teachers and peers whereas I was bullied by only peers. In the state of being bullied, Victor tried to fit in he even kisses white girls whereas I accept who I was and used the positive energy that I got from Mr. Belasse and my mother to achieve my goals. Both Victor and I were involved in school sports. Victor was involved in basketball whereas I was involved in track and field soccer. We both faced racial discrimination. Being Indians in America was not easy. The Americans did not want us. On my sixth grade I got to know my name was Ahab which had a Hebrew, an English meaning as well had a numerological symbol. According to the Bible, Ahab was a king who did not please God but I choose not to let that define me. I had some aspects of religion in me which is not the case to Victor’s case. Victor had encounters with Indian women; the society he was brought up in did not mind about that but he is condemned when he makes out with a white girl. He feels guilt and reasons that he might be saying goodbye to his culture and the Indian girls and women that he had ever loved. He has been brought up to know that food is not to go to waste that he even asks for the bulemie girl for her lunch back when he hears her vomiting. The case is not taken lightly by Betty Towle who sends him home with a letter. She blames his culture when she does not get what she wants and forces him to shave his braids. He also realizes that his culture was not socially accepted after the death of Wally Jim. Our families both valued education and supported us in the various extracurricular activities that we wanted to be part of. They sent us to school so as we both make our lives better though; my parent was more concerned in my school life than Victor’s parents were. My mother was forehand in instilling positive energy that drove me through my school life. We both joined sports that our gender allowed. I joined track and field soccer whereas Victor joined basketball. Victor and I faced racial discrimination but we had a shoulder to lean on. After two years passed Hester had not only fell into sin but she’s done so by committing adultery that resulted in her bringing another life into the nation and the scarlet letter â€Å"A† being embroidered onto her chest. Years past and Hester is released from prison, she now works in a small town working to provide for Pearl. Chillingworth has become a physician and is now taking care of Dimmesdale, the man who committed adultery with Hester. Chillingworth has always had a severe hatred for Hester but wants her not to reveal that he is her husband. Hester promised to never reveal Chillingworth’s identity. When Hester started to question Chillingworth’s motive, he lies and tells her he doesn’t want to be known as the husband of a faithless women. Chillingworth reveals it is his â€Å"Purpose to live and die alone†. Chillingworth threatens Dimmesdale so Hester hesitates but agrees. The letter â€Å"A† that was embroidered onto Hesters chest symbolizing the sin adultery that was committed was used to mortify Hesters well-being. Pearl is obsessed with the letter â€Å"A† embroidered into Hesters chest, but Hester swore to never tell Pearl the real meaning.
